a memorable memorial day weekend

It was Memorial Day weekend this weekend and we went on a road trip and I got to see some deer
We stayed in a cabin in the Shenandoah range and I was very surprised to find they did not have a TV!

On Saturday we visited the Luray Caverns and I was very good and walked nearly the whole 1.25 miles by myself. I did not like the stories they told about ghosts and bones in the caverns but mummy and daddy assured me it was just made up and not real.
On Saturday night we stayed in Waynesboro and had Mexican for dinner before experiencing Walmart for the first time and heading home on Sunday

Mummy had lots of fun driving her Jag with the roof open through the mountain range and looking at op shops as we went

Daddy was supposed to be studying for his exams but I'm glad he came with us.

ship ahoy!

Today was Mothers Day and we spent it in Annapolis

We went on a pirate boat and had lots of fun

I had to show my muscles before they would let me on because only strong pirates were allowed

We shot an evil pirate with water cannons he fell into the water

We found a treasure and I was a bit worried when the pirate crew said there was an octopus in the treasure chest - but it was full of gold coins and plastic sea creatures the best treasure for little boys

I was very happy with my sea horse!

Mummy and I both fell asleep on the way home

we're going to the zoo

Just home from a lovely day out with Dawn and David, Mummy and Daddy

We went to the farmers market and while I was disappointed to find no buns with icing I was very happy with my chocolate milk

posing for photos on the stairs at Dawn and David's
We went back to have lunch and I had yummy noodles and soy sauce while the others enjoyed Dawn's delicious lamb shanks - I nabbed a few bits of the meat from daddy

After lunch we headed to the National Zoo. We rode on the merry-go- round and saw crocodiles and elephants and had a lovely visit.

Enjoying the crocodile on the merry go round before checking out the real thing

Dawn, Mummy and me at the National Zoo

Headed home after a very good day indeed
I am just glad the tiger was asleep and didn't see my face paint and want to play with me

Picnic in the sun

Today we had a lovely picnic at Great Falls National Park

The sun was out and everybody was keen to enjoy it

Had lots of fun running down the paths until I fell and grazed my elbow

We found a bridge over a little river and played pooh sticks for a while before finding a nice grassy spot to kick the ball around and have something to eat

After a snack we went down to check out the falls - I found an excellent stick I could use as a pony
yeeha! ride'em cowboy!

virginia beach dreaming

Just back from a nice mini-break with mummy, daddy, nan and jim

The weather turned nice just in time for us to hit the beach (but the water was freezing)

Highlights included:

stopping at Colonial Williamsburg and taking a horse and carriage ride with Nan and Jim

watching the sun rise over the Atlantic ocean

playing with mummy on the 'jolly roger' pirate shaped playground on the beach right in front of our hotel

and jumping waves in the freezing water!

Looking forward to having birthday cupcakes with Nan tonight

random nice thoughts

Tonight at bed time I asked daddy to tell me something he'd never told me before. He told me that sometimes at night when he's lying in bed he misses me. I told him that I miss him when I'm at school, but I know he'll come and pick me up at the end of the day.

...

I liked finding easter eggs on Tuesday that 'd I missed during our easter egg hunt on sunday

...

It's nice to have a nan who visits you from the other side of the world and buys you cool books like "dinosaurs love underpants"
